Clifton Brown Carter Jr, age 81, of Clay Hill, Florida, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023.  He was born on October 7, 1941, to Vinnie Lou (Manning) and Clifton Brown Carter in Clay Hill where he has lived his entire life. Mr. Carter attended Nolan Ridge Baptist Church and retired from The Forestry Division of Gilman Paper Mill where he was a heavy equipment operator. Preceded in death by his parents, survivors include his wife of 58 years, Illene Dean Carter; two sons, Timbo Carter and his wife, Lisa, and Travis Carter.; his daughter, Traci Depreist and her husband, Marshall; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Jean Thomas and her husband, Ed; along with numerous other family and friends. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Long Branch Cemetery with Pastor Freddie Griffis and Pastor Lester Austin officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
