Clayton Oral Harris, Sr., age 65, of Maxville, Florida, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 23, 2017 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on February 20, 1952 in Orange Park to Donnie and Della (Padgett) Harris.
Mr. Harris was a lifelong resident of Maxville and a Carpentar by trade. He was known for his quick sense of humor and he loved to make people laugh. Clayton enjoyed farming, loved his family, and spoiled his grandchildren.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carlton Harris, Clifton Harris, and Connie Harris; and sisters, Carlene Masters, and Christine Shreves. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Theresa Harris of Maxville; sons, Clayton Harris, Jr. (Abby) of Maxville, and Matthew C. Harris of Maxville; daughter, Jessica Dell (Brandon Odom) of Maxville; sisters, Peggy Albritton (Alan), Cassie Abernathy (Ed), Claudia Taylor (Harry), and Carol Sue Green (Randy); and grandchildren, Taylor, Gracie, Faith, Farley, Matthew, Molly, and Clayton, III. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel.
