Cheryl Diane Mercer, age 70, of Belleview, Florida, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.  She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.  She was born in Gainesville, Florida, on November 16, 1946, to Vandal and Jewell Wilson, and spent the majority of her childhood in Oklawaha, Florida.  Chery's true love and calling was her career as a Certified Nurse's Assistant.  Although a native of Florida, her heart found a home in the White Mountains of New Hampshire where she lived until her health forced retirement and a move home to Belleview.  She will forever roam the Irish Hills and White Mountains.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, and one grandson. She is survived by her mother, Jewell Wilson of Gainesville; children, Diedra Bray of Belleview, Michael Clapp (Melinda) of Gainesville, William "Damon" Clapp (Machielle) of Canyon Country, California, Shana Miller (Mark) of Live Oak, David Clapp (Lisa) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mark Mercer of Belleview, Kelly Wood (Chris) of Ray City, Georgia, Angela Mercer of Gainesville, and Erin Mercer of Belleview; siblings, Gary Wilson (Wanda), James "Jimmy" Wilson (Vanessa), and Pamela Wilson, all of High Springs. She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
An Irish Wake will be held in Cheryl's honor from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Diedra in Belleview.
