Ms. Cherie Ann Permenter, age 60, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Ms. Permenter was born on July 15, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland to Robert Haymire and Shirley (Lakins) Keesey. Ms. Cherie had been a resident of Macclenny for the last 33 years, previously living in Jacksonville. Cherie spent many years in health care, retiring after 28 years with Northeast Florida State Hospital. She recently went back to work at W. Frank Wells Nursing Home. She was known to be hard working and dedicated by her coworkers. When not working, Cherie enjoyed attending dinner shows at the Alhambra Theatre & Dining. She also loved to go to Walt Disney World and on cruises with her family, especially to the Caribbean. She was fond of Michael Jackson and had Betty Boop décor throughout her home. For the last 10 years, she had been a member of Glen Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and will be remembered as a sweet, loving, and kindhearted woman by all those who knew her. Preceded in death by her parents, Cherie is survived by her sister, Stephanie Johns (Justin) of Macclenny; nephews, Keegan Ferguson, Dawson Ferguson, and Samuel Johns, all of Macclenny; nieces, Sunnie and ShiAnn Johns, both of Macclenny; and numerous close friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in the chapel of Blackburn-Curry Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Glen Baptist Church with Pastor Chas Rowland officiating. Interment in Macedonia Cemetery will follow.
