Mr. Cecil Hardy Rhoden Sr., age 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, peacefully at his home. He was the son of the late Lacy D. and Pency C. (Crews) Rhoden and was a lifelong resident of Baker County. Cecil was a loving father, Papa, Opa, and brother who enjoyed swimming in his pool and spending time at his weekend place at Wilson Springs during the summer. He also took pride in working in his yard and tending his garden, where he was known for his ability to raise some of the finest cucumbers and tomatoes you would ever like to eat. Cecil and his late wife, Barbara, owned and operated Baldwin Home Appliance in Baldwin, Florida, for over 45 years until 2005, when he decided to retire. He loved the Lord and devoted his time and service as a longtime member of Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; stepson, Walker "Buzzy" Mills; stepdaughter, Helen Carter; step-granddaughter, Kim Cason; son-in-law, Eric J. Harrison; and his beloved wife of 47 years, Barbara Ann Rhoden. Survivors include his son, Cecil Hardy Rhoden Jr. of Macclenny; daughter, Debbie Fraser (Ryan) of Macclenny; brother, Randall Rhoden (Carolyn) of Macclenny; grandchildren, Gar Fraser and Taylor Parker; and great-grandchild, Ryann Parker. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel.
