IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol "Lynn"
Gainey
January 8, 1966 – January 25, 2023
Carol "Lynn" Gainey, age 57, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. She was born in Macclenny on January 8, 1966, to Bobby Lee Hodges and Carolyn Plymel. Lynn was an amazing and beloved mother and "Nan." She enjoyed dancing, rainbows, collecting unicorns, watching the stars in the night sky, and feeling the warm sand between her toes at the beach. Lynn found peace and happiness being outside, no matter the time of day. One of her favorite things was sitting on her porch, listening to her wind chimes as they swayed in the gentle breeze. Of course, her greatest love was her family and that of her kids and grandkids, laughing and playing. Lynn was incredibly proud of her nephew, who plays football for Appalachian State and considered herself an avid Mountaineer. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Lee Hodges; brothers, Lee, Brian, Russell, and Edward Hodges; sister, Shirley Higginbotham; and her fiancé, Douglas Morgan. Survivors include her daughters, Kristy Huckeby (Preston) of Macclenny, Delaney Swearingen (Timmy) of Macclenny, Ivy Morgan (David) of Sanderson, Savannah Morgan and Alexis Morgan, both of Macclenny; brothers, Ray Hodges (Felicia) of Glen St. Mary, Denny Hodges, of Macclenny, Frankie Hodges (Becky) of Sanderson, Brad Hodges (Alicia) of Glen St. Mary, Edward Hodges Jr. of Macclenny, Jessie Hodges (Wendy) of Offerman, Georgia, and Steve Hodges (Elaine) of Sanderson; grandchildren, Kallen, Nathan, Taylin, Easton, and Brantley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Timmy Thomas officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL & CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. (904) 259-2806. Please share your condolences with the Hodges family online at www.blackburncurryfh.com.
