Obituary

Bruce Alan Carter, age 56, of Clay Hill, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Community Hospice Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville. He was born in Orange Park on August 8, 1966, to George C. Carter and Catherine Blackmon, and had lived in Clay Hill all of his life. Bruce was a fun loving, generous brother and uncle that enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his brothers, Clifton Hatcher (Nettie) of Sampson City, George D. Carter (Lisa), Steve A. Carter, and Jerry Carter (Liz), all of Clay Hill; sister, Joyce C. Hatcher (Charles) of Clay Hill; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Spot. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Highland First Baptist Church in Lawtey with Pastor Freddie Griffis officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
