Billy Joe McDaniel Sr., age 76, of Glen St. Mary, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022. He was born on August 23, 1946, in Salem, Oregon, to Everett and Josephine Marie (Catania) McDaniel. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bill was a good provider and took care of his family. He enjoyed fishing with his wife and was a member of the Baker County Bass Masters. Bill enjoyed being outdoors and loved hosting fish fries almost every weekend. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Billy J. McDaniel Jr. and Roy Lane McDaniel; daughters, Rosa Strickland, Melissa Lane McDaniel, and Tiffany McDaniel; and sister, Shirley Baker. Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Margaret McDaniel of Glen St. Mary; son, Bobby McDaniel (Heather) of Kingsport, Tennessee; daughters, Debbie Davis (Eugene) of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Daisy Lane McDaniel of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren, Sheri, Eugene Jr., Audri, Aiden, and Austin; two great-grandchildren; along with many other family members and close friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eugene Strickland officiating.
