Billy Lee Atwood, age 65, of St. George, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. He was born on July 26, 1957, in Liberty, Kentucky, to Betty Welch and Delbert Thompson and had lived most of his life in St. George. Billy was a caring father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a simple man that enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his dogs. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Welch; brother, David L. Davis; and nephew, Duane McCoy. Survivors include his wife, Kim Atwood; son, Derrick Powell; stepfather, Joe Welch; brother, Joel Welch; sisters, Lisa Powell (Larry), Patricia McCoy (Charles), Ruth Lee (Mikey), and Charlotte Jay (David); sister-in-law, Janet Davis; grandchildren, Brady Powell and Jason Powell; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
