Beatrice Hawes Griffin, age 68, of Starke, Florida, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, after a long, hard and well fought battle with an illness. Beatrice was born in Bridgeport, Alabama, on August 10, 1955, to Helen (Guess) and George Barron and had lived in Bradford County for the past 6 years. Beatrice was the most kind hearted mother, grandmother, and sister who dedicated her life to raising her family, watching her TV shows, aggravating her husband, and napping. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Wayne Griffin; and her two sons, Richard Wayne Griffin and Joseph Michael Griffin. Survivors include her son, Matthew George Griffin (Ashton) of Macclenny; daughter, Patricia Jayne Griffin of Starke; brothers, Claude Hawes (Joan) of Broadway, North Carolina, and Gerald Barron (Debbie) of Tampa; sister, Dorris Barron (Jacob) of Tampa; and grandson, Joseph Matthew Lankford Griffin. Graveside services will be held for Beatrice at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, in Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny.
