Annie Lois "Mema" Hulse, age 83, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness.  She was born on June 5, 1934 in Moultrie, Georgia to Jordan and Bessie (Murphy) Hancock. Mrs. Hulse enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and crocheting. Annie was of the Baptist faith, and she loved spending time with her family.  Mrs. Annie was a longtime Baker for Morrison Cafeteria. Affectionately known as "Mema" to everyone, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Bernard John Hulse, Jr.; daughters, Gloria Conner and Reba Lugo; and granddaughter, Samantha Hulse. Mrs. Hulse is survived by her sons, Elton Cannady of Jacksonville, Marvin Cannady (Dena) of Keystone Heights, Bernie Hulse (Missy) of Middleburg, Bobby Hulse (Karen) of Middleburg, and Michael Hulse (Deborah) of Middleburg; daughter, Sarah Hughes (Wayne) of Ocala; brother, Hubert Hancock of Moultrie, Georgia; and sister, Ophelia McKenna of Camilla, Georgia. She also leaves behind 28 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hulse will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Middleburg, Florida.
