Alexander “August” Malcolm Lonie, age 27, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Born on February 17, 1999, in Elkhart, Indiana, he was the only son of Nicole (Hutchison) and Johnathan Lonie. A devoted son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend, he brought warmth and kindness wherever he went.
August cared deeply for animals and was always helping others, passions he lovingly blended during his time at Macclenny Pets and Supplies. Beyond his compassion, he was a gifted self taught musician, gracefully playing the piano and guitar, sharing his bright spirit through music. His radiant charisma was a true light in this world, one that will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
August was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Hutchison. He will be forever remembered by his parents, Johnathan and Nicole Lonie; sisters, Coral Rossi (Andrew) of Indiana, McKenzie Artka (Jeremy) of Indiana, and Emmilee Lonie of Macclenny; nieces, Mary Hutchison, Naomi Bellamy, and Erika Rossi; nephew, Andrew Rossi; and grandparents, Janet and Steve Lonie and Mary Hutchison; along with countless friends he made along the way.
A Celebration of August’s Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
