Mrs. Sharon Ann Gatlin, age 76, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019, after an extended illness at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park. She was born on May 24, 1942, in Burlington, Vermont to Edward Bernard and Elizabeth Ann Pecor. Pentecostal by faith, Sharon was a homemaker who loved the Lord and all of her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to her Christian music while she cleaned house. She was a simple, sweet, and humble person.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 10 years, Floyd Gatlin; sons, Ray Ray DeBoyd and David DeBoyd; and brother, Sonny Pecor. She is survived by her children, Ilona “Loni” Crist (Mike) of Middleburg, Pete Wood (Louise) of Middleburg, James Wood (Melody) of Lake Butler, Debbie McDaniel (Bobby) of Middleburg, Donald DeBoyd of Middleburg, and Penny Starling (Lonnie) of Middleburg; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral and Cremation. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Albert Starling officiating. Interment at Long Branch Cemetery in Maxville will follow.
