Ms. Launa Ruth Storke, age 76, of Live Oak, Florida passed on into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Surrey Place Care Center with her loving family by her side. She was born on January 20, 1942 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Elbert Webb and Ethel (Blair) Davis. Ms. Launa had followed in her father’s footsteps and became a barber in 1960. Affectionately known to many as “Nanny,” Launa moved to Suwannee County in 1972. You could always find her working at Live Oak Barber and Style Shop until she retired after 40 years in 2000. She was of the Baptist faith, loved spending time with her family, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Launa was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Robert Davis and Walter Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca A. Wheeler (Daniel) of Canton, North Carolina; brother, Paul Davis (Sally); sister, Ann Snyder (James); grandchildren, Ashley Wright (Jay), Austin Napier (Nikki), Colton Sheppard (Miranda), and Abby Storke; great-grandchildren, Calob Napier, Hannah Napier, Ellie Napier, Josh Napier, Leah Napier, Aaron Napier, and Cohen Sheppard; along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Live Oak Cemetery with Nate Nelson officiating.
