Eunice Mobley Caldwell, age 88, of Jacksonville, Florida died on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville. She was born in Gainesville on January 31, 1930 and lived in Maxville where she raised her eight children before moving to Macclenny to care for her mother. She then moved to Jacksonville with her eldest daughter until her passing.
Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Lacy Mobley of Starke; mother, Fleta Grooms Williams of Macclenny; brother, Edward Mobley of Starke; and sister, Lucille Raulerson of Keystone Heights.
She is survived by her children, Donald Caldwell of Middleburg, Gail Callaway of Jacksonville, Larry Caldwell (Candice) of Maxville, Sandra Johnson (David) of Jacksonville, Kenneth Caldwell of Woodbine, GA, Beverly Martinez (Ray) of Macclenny, Linda Crews (Ronnie) of Baldwin, and Kimberly Castaneda (Gabs) of Orange Park; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; brother, Fulton Mobley of Palm Bay; sisters, Earnestine Underhill of Starke, Jewell Beckham of Hawthorne, and Nina Grady Downey of Greenwood, SC; along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Home, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL 32063. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Rhoden officiating.
