Mrs. Erin Colleen Russo-Hodges, age 53, was welcomed into the arms of our heavenly Father on Friday, February 2, 2018 during her stay in Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was born on October 7, 1964 to Clifford McGhan of Anchorage, Alaska and Doris Albright of Lake City, Florida.
Erin resided in Glen St. Mary, Florida and worked at Northeast Florida State Hospital for 16 years until her sudden illness led to her retirement. She held the position as Food Service Administrator in the Dietary department.
She was passionate about her two football teams. One being the Denver Broncos and the other the Florida Gators. She enjoyed watching the teams play on the weekends.
She also loved to read and spend time with friends and family, often speaking of her adoring grandchildren. She enjoyed taking trips to Tampa and Biloxi and would often reminisce about her days as an adolescent playing in the Alaskan snow and diving in the Florida Keys.
Erin was preceded in death by her loving father, Clifford McGhan.
She is survived by the love of her life, Mr. Danny Hodges of Glen St. Mary; her children, Johnathan Starling and Krystal Starling-Grant (James) of Jacksonville, Jacob and Kyle Hodges of Sanderson and Tara Hodges of Macclenny. She is also survived by her mother, Doris; 7 grandchildren; as well as one brother, Donald “Donnie” Nelson of Anchorage, Alaska; and one sister, Naidine (George) Hayes of Lake City.
A Home Going Memorial Service will be held 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Albert Starling officiating.
