David Jeffrey “Jeff” Bowers, age 48, of Orange Park, Florida passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018. He was born on January 19, 1970 in Wooster, Ohio but soon became a life long resident of Jacksonville, Florida. Jeff was a professional truck driver and had worked for Green Edge Technologies. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, collecting firearms, and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Jeff was the loving son of Gail Caldwell Callaway and the late David A. Bowers. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Rhonda E. Bowers. He was a wonderful stepfather to three children, K.C. Channell, Ashlee Channell, and Kaylynn Channell Allen; one step-grandson, Cooper Allen; and one God-daughter, Karaleigh Kahre. He is also survived by uncles, Joseph Martinez of Nelsonville, Ohio, Donald Caldwell of Middleburg, Larry Caldwell of Maxville, and Kenneth Caldwell of Waverly, Georgia; aunts, Vicki Martinez Wisor of Nelsonville, Ohio, Sandra Johnson of Jacksonville, Beverly Martinez of Glen St. Mary, Linda Crews of Baldwin, and Kimberly Castaneda of Orange Park; along with numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the chapel of Blackburn-Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00-6:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
