David Charles Alford

David Charles Alford, age 64, of Sanderson, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Mr. Alford was born on December 12, 1954, to Vernon Charles Alford and Violet Davis Alford. He worked for Southeastern Iron Workers with WW Gay for 23 years. He was a member of the Ironworker's Union Local Number 597, and a member of Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and loved the Georgia Bulldogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gayle Alford; son, John Wiley Alford; nephew Peedink Alford; son-in-law Scott Davis; and mother-in-law, Mary Roiser. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Dodie Roiser Alford; his daughters, Lori Ann Davis of Tallahassee,  Ashley Wright (Clayton) of Macclenny, Kristie Alford, and Whitney Alford of Sanderson; nine grandchildren, Brittney Alford, Kansas Davis, Ashton Alford, Scotty Davis, Kaitlyn Davis, Kassie Davis, Maliyah Washington, Malachi Larry, Mayzon Larry, and expected grandson, Elijah Wright; sisters, Cathy Griffis of Olustee, Sue (Billy) Godwin of Sanderson, Betty (Bobby) Barnes of Macclenny, Lydia Alford of Sanderson, Amy (William) Flanders of Olustee, Joan (Michael) Midyette of Glen St. Mary, and Sonia (Sam) Combs of Sanderson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Dinkins Church. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, October 14, 2019, at Dinkins Church with Pastor Timothy Alford and Sam Combs officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
