Bonnie Laura Deese Midyette, born February 22, 1933, died on June 29, 2018. Bonnie was a lifelong resident of Maxville, Florida. A loving mother and grandmother, Bonnie raised three remarkable sons along with her husband, Sammie. She loved to sing hymns and Christmas carols. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon Broward Deese and Evelyn Baxley Deese, her brother, Edward Harris, her sister, Louise, her son, Edward Midyette (Linda), and her grandson, Ed (Shelby). Grieving today are her siblings, Jimmy (Rosalie), Lonnie, Dora Rudd (Jerry), and Doris Jackson (Lamar). Her living children, Samuel “Newk” (Josie) and Jimmy “Bo” (Louise) are left to comfort her remaining grandchildren, Sam, Cindy Bowen (Mike), Brian Martin (Jenny), and Jimmy Jr. She is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family will receive guests at a visitation to be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. Pastor Freddie Griffis will conduct Bonnie’s funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Deese Family Cemetery on Solomon Road in Maxville. Flowers are welcome; Bonnie’s favorite color was purple.
