Mr. Bobby E. Brooks Sr., age 71, of Baldwin, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital in Macclenny. Bobby was born on July 4, 1948, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the son of the late Laudric W. and Jettie E. (Ingram) Brooks, and had lived in Baldwin for the past 37 years. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and hog hunting. Mr. Brooks faithfully served his country through two tours of Vietnam as a United States Marine. He never met a stranger and always took the time to help someone in need.
​Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Claudia Jean (Pellum) Brooks of Baldwin; sons, Rev. Johnny Wayne Robinson (Rachel) of Baldwin, and Bobby Brooks Jr. (Athena) Of Orange Park; daughters, Lisa M. Hagins and Jennifer Brooks-Cochran (Devin) both of Baldwin; sister, Linda S. Lee and niece, Jenny of Fleming Island; grandchildren, William, Matthew, Dean, Cassie, Jeanie, Nathan, Heather, Jake, and Jayden; great-grandchildren, Jase, Emilia, Gabby, Kensley, Bryan, Veronica, Antoinette, Matthew, Zachery, Kendall, Haley, Lily, and Alex; along with numerous other friends and family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Glen Friendship Tabernacle with Rev. Johnny W. Robinson officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday evening, November 25, 2019, from 5 pm until 7 pm at the church.
