Mrs. Beth Louise Mock, age 60, of Macclenny, Florida passed away after a brief illness on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Orange Park Medical Center. She was born in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on January 2, 1959, to Jane Watts and Joseph Dorwart, Jr. She grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida, and received her Master’s Degree in Education. She briefly lived in Brooksville, where she taught her first year of elementary school before moving to Macclenny. Mrs. Mock proudly taught at Macclenny Elementary School for 30 years. Notable were her computer lab, the journalism club, and decades of yearbooks. She retired to travel in 2018. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Macclenny and was past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also involved with Florida Crown Emmaus.
Beth was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Nelson M. Mock of Macclenny; daughter, Faith Fuller of Macclenny; mother, Jane Sundblad of Hernando, Florida; siblings, Joseph Dorwart, III (Joan) of Ladsen, South Carolina, Jeffrey Dorwart (Aridia) of Quaker Hill, Connecticut, Brenda Small (Stephen) of Westerly, Rhode Island, Belita Oehl (Georg) of Brandon, Florida, and Blythe Luetkehoelter (Olaf) of Cary, North Carolina; grandchildren, Elora Winston, and Samantha Pearl; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, other family members, and friends.
A Celebration of Beth’s Life will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at First United Methodist Church of Macclenny with Reverend Bryan Simpson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Beth's name to FUMC, 93 N. 5th St. Macclenny, FL 32063.
